We asked some of the Popkomm visitors which acts from the Showcase Festival Programme they were looking forward to seeing and why. Here’s what we got……

Gregor Stöckl

KELLERMENSCH (Denmark): I’ve heard and read some stuff, listened to the album, liked it a lot, saw a video which impressed me and expect nothing less than a massive, striking live-show and don´t want to get disappointed by them…!

HAUDEGEN (Germany): Ich bin ein Berliner. These guys are too. So, let´s see.

JESSE (Finland): I like what people have told me about them and would like to check out how far/advanced they already are and how ready the world is for them.

One of Berlin’s premier booking agencies and promoters, Four Artists, is arranging a night featuring some of its roster of new International artists. The show takes place on Thursday 9th September at Privat Club, Kreuzberg, and presents a stunning line-up including Laura Jansen, Marie Fisker, Julia Marcell, and Boy. This is going to be good.

The good people from First Music Contact, supported by those other good folk from IMRO, The Arts Council, Culture  Ireland, and Livewire Business Management, have only gone and decided to put together a show combining some of the hottest new Irish acts AND make the show happen at Popkomm this year. The show will take place at Silverwings Club, Tempelhof at 12:30-16:00 on Wednesday 8th September and the line-up of Yes Cadets, And So I Watch You From Afar, The Cast Of Cheers, and Dark Room Notes is enough to make a grown man weep with disbelief. The show will also be the opening event of the Popkomm Showcase Festival this year so that makes it all even better.
